Shipping and insurance
One watch, one box, sent the way I would want a sixty-year-old movement sent to me. The rate below is what you pay; the insurance is mine.
What it costs
The figure is on the bill of sale before you pay anything, so nothing about the total arrives as a surprise. Berlin is welcome to collect in person by appointment, and then there is nothing to charge.
How it travels
DHL Express, tracked and signed for, insured for the full purchase price at my cost. It is wound, set and checked one last time, then packed in a watch case inside a plain box — nothing on the outside says what is inside. You get the tracking number the day it goes, and it goes within a week of payment.
Risk passes on delivery. If it is lost or damaged on the way, that is between me and DHL: you are refunded, and I make the claim.
Duties and import VAT
Inside the EU there is nothing further to pay — the watch is already in free circulation and, as a private sale, no VAT is charged on it. Outside the EU, import duty and VAT are yours, charged by your own customs and collected by DHL before delivery. Tell me your country when you write and I will say what I know about it rather than let you find out at the door.
The customs declaration carries the real value and the word watch. Asking me to write “gift”, “parts” or a lower figure voids the insurance and removes your own protection, so the answer is no — every time, however the request is put.
