Buren Intramatic Automatic Dress Watch, 1960s
Calibre Buren 1320I keep coming back to the dial on this Buren: a brushed silver surface with a mix of baton and rectangular markers, a squared marker at 12, and slim dauphine hands, set below the intra-matic signature and the winged crest. Looking closely, I can see small dark flecks scattered across the surface, more concentrated toward the upper right, plus a touch of oxidation near the edge - not tidied up, and it reads that way. The cushion-shaped steel case has kept its lines, though the lugs carry light polish marks from handling over the years. Turning it over, the case back still shows its engine-turned finish and the full Buren Watch Co S.A. Swiss stamping, alongside a few scratches picked up along the way. This is a 1960s automatic, caliber 1320, and I'd steer it toward someone who wants a period cushion case rather than another round one.
