Dugena Super Automatic 1960s
Ref. 100862 · Calibre Buren 1321The lug edges on this one have gone past lightly worn — the gold plating has brassed through to brass at several corners, and I've left it as it came to me rather than have it re-plated. The dial is a silver sunburst with applied gold indices and dauphine-style hands, still sharp and legible, though there's a small cluster of dark spotting near the centre and another fleck by the lower-left marker that I'd call ageing rather than damage. Above the "Automatic" signature sits the "Dugena Super" script, with a date window at three. I had the caseback off to photograph the movement, marked calibre 1321 and supplied by Büren, who in the 1960s were known for the slim micro-rotor automatics they built for brands including Dugena. The strap and gold-toned buckle are stamped Dugena too. I'd suggest this one to someone who wants a wearable period automatic and doesn't need the case to look untouched.
