Calibre Hamilton 628What draws my eye on this one is the dial itself: the applied gold arrow markers have a sharp, faceted cut that catches light differently at every angle, paired with painted Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9. The silvered dial has warmed slightly toward the edges, giving it a soft champagne cast rather than a flat white, and the "Thin-o-matic" script beneath the Hamilton logo is crisp. The gold dauphine hands still carry their lume-free polish, and the case remains unpolished, with the lug edges left sharp rather than rounded off — I can see light hairlining across the caseback consistent with age, not abuse. Inside sits the automatic caliber 628, keeping this Thin-o-matic true to Hamilton's 1960s push toward slimmer self-winding movements. A legible serial is present on the caseback. I'd point this one toward a buyer who wants a dressy, low-profile automatic they can wear daily without worrying about a pristine case.
