Calibre IWC Cal. 89This dial has more spotting across its lower half than I usually let through the door, soft and uneven under raking light, yet the International Watch Co. Schaffhausen signature and applied gold indices still read sharp against it. Dauphine hands in the same gold tone catch light cleanly at the centre, less so near the tips. I photographed it with the case back off to show the cal 89 inside: broad barrel and going-train wheels, visible jewels, an IWC-signed bridge, no damage around the balance. The case has been lightly polished, so the bevel along the lugs reads a touch softer than a factory edge, though the teardrop lug line and shoulders into the strap are still well defined. I'd put this on someone who wants a 1950s dress watch to wear regularly, not store, and who isn't bothered by a dial that shows its age.

Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
