Calibre Omega 30T2What pulls me back to this dial is the depth of the black lacquer under the glass — it shifts between charcoal and near-brown depending on the angle, with the gilt Arabic numerals and recessed subsidiary seconds still crisp against it. The gold-tone hands and applied Omega signature have kept their colour, and the case, gold-plated rather than solid, shows wear I'd expect on a piece this age: thinning at the lug edges where the plating has gone through to a paler metal, visible once tilted into the light. It runs on the Omega 30T2, a manual-wind caliber Omega used widely through the 1940s in dress watches of this size, and the caseback carries a legible serial along with its gold-plating marks. I haven't had the back off, so I can't speak to the movement's condition beyond what's stamped there. This suits someone who wants a modest, well-proportioned dress watch to wear, not shelve.
