Omega Seamaster ref. 166.090 cal. 1002 39mm Gold-Plated Dress Watch from 1970s
Ref. 166.090 · Calibre Omega 1002 · 39mm Gold-platedCondition
Provenance — One of the pieces I bought online rather than in a shop.
What I like about this Seamaster is the dial: a grained champagne centre set inside a silver minute ring ruled with black hash marks. The dial is original, with applied gold batons carrying black inlays and a framed date at three. The hands have been replaced, and I would rather say so plainly than leave it to the photos. The 39mm cushion case is gold-plated to 40 microns over a steel screw back with the seahorse medallion, and it has not been polished. There is wear to the plating at the rim under the case back and there are light marks on the bezel. The automatic cal. 1002 inside is signed and clean, and the reference 166.090 is stamped inside the back. I'm selling it on a cream leather strap in a later red Omega presentation box. It suits a buyer who wants a large, bold Omega from the early seventies.
Buying from a stranger, in short. Every fault I know of is in the listing, and if you find one I missed, the return stands. Take the watch to a watchmaker of your choosing before you pay — I have never once objected. Fourteen days to send it back, for any reason at all.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
