Titus Dress Watch 1960s, Gold-Plated Case
Ref. 7641The gilt case shape is what pulls my eye every time I look at this one — those angular, almost architectural lugs and the notched winding crown give it a presence the usual round dress case doesn't have. My eyes go straight to the dial, which has toned to a warm, uneven straw colour with darker mottling spreading in from the edges, quite different from a clean silvered face. The baton indices and dauphine hands still carry their lume-free steel finish, and the Titus laurel logo above six is crisp under the acrylic crystal, which itself shows light scuffing rather than deep scratches. The gold-tone case retains real shine on the lugs and bezel, with only faint brassing where the plating has thinned at the high points. Turning it over, the stainless steel back is polished and legible, serial intact. I'd point this one toward a collector who wants a manual-wind 1960s dress piece with real character in the case, not another plain round face — someone happy to wear the dial's aging rather than have it look untouched.
