Universal Geneve Bumper Automatic, 1950s
Calibre Universal Geneve 138 SSUnder raking light this dial reads as a warm charcoal grey, not the flat black I expected before I had it in hand, with a faint graininess across the surface that tells me it hasn't been redone. The tapered gold indices and dauphine hands are all present and matched, and the printed UNIVERSAL GENEVE and AUTOMATIC lines are crisp. Turning it over, the bumper movement, calibre 138 SS, sits fully exposed, bridges and the semicircular rotor visible and unpolished. The 14kt gold filled case carries genuine wear: brassing at the lug edges, small scuffs on the acrylic crystal, and case marks consistent with decades of handling. I'd sell this to someone who wants a 1950s bumper automatic to study as much as wear, not a case that's been buffed smooth.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
