Zodiac Hermetic Three-Hand, 1960s
Ref. 683 711 · Calibre Zodiac 68I keep noticing the dial on this Hermetic drops every hour numeral except a single tall Arabic '12' at the top, with the rest marked on slim gold batons — that quirk is what makes this particular dial worth a second look. The gold-tone finish has gone matte and carries scattered spotting across the lower half, though the gilt hands and the small date window at three still read cleanly. The case is gold-plated over a steel back marked Fond Acier Inoxydable, and I can see brass showing through at the lug edges where the plating has thinned. Turning it over shows the Zodiac calibre 68, a seventeen-jewel manual movement stamped unadjusted, clean under the loupe with a legible serial I won't quote here. I'd put this one on someone who wants a 1960s dress watch worn as it came to me, spotting and lug wear included, not one already tidied up.
