Certina Three-Hand Dress Watch, 1950s
Ref. 8721.6 · Calibre Certina K.F.320The mix of Arabic and triangular hour markers on this dial is what pulled my eye, alternating around the chapter ring with a restrained, almost military logic that Certina didn't always carry into its dressier lines. The silvered dial has aged to a warm, slightly mottled tone with faint spotting near six, and the gilt dauphine hands and matching subsidiary seconds have kept their colour well against it. Gold-capped case, steel back stamped Fond Acier Inoxydable, shows brassing through at the lugs and light scratching across the caseback consistent with genuine wear rather than storage. Inside sits the manual-wind K.F.320, fifteen jewels, dial and bridges clean and unmolested, with a serial present and legible on the movement. I haven't touched the finish or tried to tidy up the case wear, and I'd point this one toward a buyer who wants a wearable 1950s piece with real presence on the wrist rather than a display-case dress watch.
