Zenith cal. 106-6 33mm Gold-Plated Dress Watch from 1950s
Calibre Zenith 106-6 · 33mm Gold-platedCondition — Lightly gold-plated case with visible brassing, originaal dial shows scattered spotting, original hands
Provenance — Bought privately, the way the whole collection was put together.
The caseback here carries an engraving to a Saarbergwerke recipient dated 1955, which tells me this Zenith left the factory as a presentation piece rather than an ordinary sale. I like that the dial still wears its age plainly: scattered spotting across the silvered surface, especially around the lower half, with the rose-toned Arabic numerals and matching dauphine hands otherwise crisp and true to the period. The case has been lightly polished at some point, and I can see brassing coming through at the lugs and case flanks where the gold plating has thinned with handling. The domed crystal shows light surface marks but no chips. This runs on the manual-wind Zenith 106-6, a solid mid-century three-hand caliber, and the bracelet is a period-correct gold-filled French piece, heavier at the clasp than the links. I'd point this toward someone drawn to a dated, personal history over a pristine dial.
Buying from a stranger, in short. Every fault I know of is in the listing, and if you find one I missed, the return stands. Take the watch to a watchmaker of your choosing before you pay — I have never once objected. Fourteen days to send it back, for any reason at all.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
