Doxa Calatrava Three-Hand Dress Watch, 1950s
Calibre Doxa 1147The mix of Arabic numerals at 12, 4, 6, 8 with slim printed markers elsewhere is what pulled me in, along with the gilt hands and matching gold-toned numerals against a dial gone warm, freckled cream with age. I can see the "Doxa Anti-Magnetic" signature above the Calatrava-style bowl case, and the manual-wind 1147 movement inside keeps this a genuinely simple three-hander, no date, nothing added. The case holds sharp, unpolished lugs with visible edge wear and light scratching across the caseback, where a legible serial is stamped but not one I'll reproduce here. My eye goes to the crystal, clear enough that the dial's speckling and a couple of age spots read plainly rather than smoothed away. This suits a buyer wanting a 1950s dress piece worn and handled rather than dressed up for sale, and I'd rather it go to someone who values that over a tidy dial.
