Dugena Digital Jump Hour Automatic 1970s

DUGENA 2724 · Calibre PUW 1560 DThe jump-hour display is what pulls me back to this one: rather than conventional hands sweeping a dial, the hour shows through a cutout window against a pale blue field, with the minute track and its own small hand ticking round beneath. I'd call the case a heavy, faceted slab of steel, tonneau-shaped and worn through to brassing at the edges and lug tips, with fine handling scratches across the top surface from decades of use. Prying the caseback off reveals the PUW 1560 D automatic, its rotor and bridges cleanly finished and stamped Dugena 2522, running at 21,600 vibrations per hour. The blue NATO strap fitted now isn't original to the piece but suits its size well. This is a 1970s oddity for someone who wants a genuine jump-hour mechanism, not a printed dial imitation, and doesn't mind a case that shows its age plainly.
