Calibre Landeron 48What sold me on this one is the two-tone dial layout — twin grey register rings against the cream-white face, with gold arrow and Arabic numerals still catching light at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. My eye keeps going to the gold baton and sub-register hands, which have kept their colour and match the case tone rather than fighting it. The case is gold-plated brass, and I can see brassing coming through at the lug edges and case sides where the plating has worn to base metal. The caseback shows a fully engine-turned wave pattern, worn smooth in places but still legible edge to edge. Opening it up, the Landeron 48 looks clean and unmolested, seventeen jewels visible, bridges and chronograph works all present with no obvious damage. This suits someone who wants a 1950s column-wheel-era chronograph to wear and use, not keep sealed away.

Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
