Glycine Pocket Watch, Dress, 1940s
The dark grey dial on this Glycine is what stopped me flipping past it: a smoked, almost gunmetal tone with faint scattered mottling under the crystal that reads as age rather than damage, paired with applied Roman and stick markers and slim faceted hands that still catch light cleanly. I like the small offset seconds subdial with its own printed track, a quiet Bienne-Geneve detail typical of Glycine's better dress watches from the period. The stainless case has period-correct proportions, thick-lugged, with visible handling marks and light edge wear on the bow and crown guard, nothing that reads as reshaped or over-polished. Opening it up shows a clean, unsigned-bridge manual movement with good screw finishing and a legible case serial inside, running with no coating losses I can see. This one suits a wearer who wants an unrestored 1940s dress pocket watch with real dial character, not a cosmetically refreshed example.
