Grana Military Pocket Watch, 1940s
Calibre K.F.262The gloss black dial on this Grana has held its depth well, and against it the silvered Arabic numerals and the dauphine hands read cleanly, with the small seconds sub-dial tracking exactly where it should at six. What I'm selling is the manual K.F.262 movement inside, visible through the caseback with its bimetallic balance and jewelled train intact and running true when I checked it over. The case itself tells a different story to the dial: the back is heavily scratched, with two small dents at the rim that I've left as they are rather than have polished out. That contrast is the reason I'd point a buyer toward this one over a tidier example — the dial and hands are the strongest part of the watch, while the case wears its handling plainly. It suits someone who wants a genuine 1940s piece to use and look at, not to keep pristine.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
