Hamilton Wadsworth 987A Manual Wind Dress Watch 1940s
Ref. H849659 · Calibre Hamilton 987AThe lug-to-case join on this one is what got my attention: the "Wadsworth" hidden-hinge lugs curl right into the case flank so the strap seems to grow out of the gold-filled shell rather than sit on it. My photos show a silvered dial with a printed railroad track and gold Arabic numerals, the seconds sub-dial marked in 20s, and gold leaf hands, all still crisp. The case is 10k gold filled, patent-dated 1938, with brassing showing through at the lug edges and case sides where decades of handling have worn the fill down to base metal. Inside, the 17-jewel Hamilton 987A is clean, with sharp screw heads and an unmarked, legible movement serial I'm leaving out of this description. I bought this for the case design rather than rarity, and I'd point it at someone who wants a manual-wind piece to wear and add its own wear to, not one to keep sealed away.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
