IWC Fancy Lugs Three-Hand 1940s
Calibre IWC Cal. 83I set this one on the bench under raking light because the dial deserves it: the two-tone gold surface has aged into soft, mottled patina, with faint spotting around the edge but the printed IWC Schaffhausen signature still crisp above the recessed subsidiary seconds. The Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9 and the stepped, engine-turned minute ring give it real presence, and the gold-toned dauphine hands still catch light cleanly against the aged surface. The case is the reason I wanted it in the first place - those swept, fancy lugs are unmistakably 1940s IWC, and mine show soft edge wear rather than any polishing rounded into the lines. Flip it over and the manual-wind Calibre 83 is finished plainly but properly, running with its original bridges and a legible movement number I won't quote here. This suits someone who wants a dress watch with character on the dial, not a re-lumed, over-restored example.

Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age.
