Omega Genève ref. 1660118 cal. 1481 35mm Gold-Plated Dress Watch from 1970s
Ref. 1660118 · Calibre Omega 1481 · 35mm Gold-platedCondition — Lightly polished gold-plated case with brassing at edges, original cream dial, hands and crown
Provenance — A private purchase, like everything in the collection.
The gilt cushion case on this one has softened at the edges in a way that only happens with years against a wrist, not a drawer, and I find that more convincing than a crisp corner ever is. The dial is original, a warm champagne with a fine vertical brush, and the baton markers still throw light cleanly against the gold-tone hands, with the sweep second and date window at three both crisp. Case wear is concentrated on the lug tops and the caseback edge, where the plating has thinned through to base metal in patches, consistent with regular use rather than mishandling. Turned over, the movement shows a rose-gilt rotor sweeping freely, signed and jewelled, with a legible serial I'm not printing here. This suits a buyer who wants a 1970s automatic Genève to wear as found, plating wear and all, rather than one refinished to look like it never left the box.
Buying from a stranger, in short. Every fault I know of is in the listing, and if you find one I missed, the return stands. Take the watch to a watchmaker of your choosing before you pay — I have never once objected. Fourteen days to send it back, for any reason at all.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
