Zodiac Astroquartz 1970s
Calibre ESA 940 111I flipped this one over before anything else, because the caseback still carries the full stamped Zodiac Ltd, Le Locle inscription, crisp enough to photograph cleanly, which is not always the case on these. The dial is white with a soft satin finish, Roman numerals in black, and slim baton hands plus a fine seconds hand, all legible with no discolouration I can see. Opened up, the ESA 940 111 module shows its tuning-fork bar, seven-jewel marking and round cell housing intact, with light handling marks on the caseback interior but nothing that looks like damp or interference. The case shows brassing and scuffing at the edges consistent with genuine wear, not polished away, and the mesh bracelet shows matching surface wear throughout. I'd put this in front of someone who wants an early Astroquartz to study the movement of, not keep pristine on a shelf. It suits a buyer comfortable with a piece that has clearly been worn.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
Fourteen days to return it for any reason — my own promise, not a statutory withdrawal right. Terms · How I describe condition
