Zodiac Astroquartz Day-Date 1970s
Calibre ESA 9362The little integrated circuit sitting under the balance-wheel-shaped bridge is what first pulled my eye when I opened the case back on this one, a reminder that Zodiac built the Astroquartz as a genuine early electronic movement rather than a quartz retrofit of an old design. The dial is a clean brushed silver with a printed red dot marking the ESA 9362 caliber, applied gold-tone baton indices, and matching dauphine hands, with the day/date window at three set in a crisp white cutout. The gold-plated case has held its shine well on the flat surfaces but shows brassing through at the case edges and lugs, plain evidence of real wrist time rather than shelf sitting. Turning it over, the octagonal Zodiac medallion on the back is still sharply struck, and the serial beneath it is legible but I'm not printing it here. This suits someone who wants 1970s quartz history worn in, not polished up.

Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age.
