Zodiac Hermetic 1970s Manual Three-hand
Ref. 683 713 · Calibre Zodiac 68AI noticed the crystal first — a scatter of fine scratches across the acrylic that catches the light before the dial does, proof this Hermetic has been worn rather than kept in a drawer. The dial itself is a warm silver with a faint vertical brushed texture, baguette indices in gold, dauphine hands, and a date window sitting cleanly at three o'clock beside the Zodiac signature. The tonneau case is gold-plated over a steel back stamped Fond Acier Inoxydable, and at the lugs I can see the plating thinning through to base metal, more on one side than the other. Turn it over and the manual Zodiac calibre 68A is fully exposed, seventeen jewels, unadjusted, with a serial legible under the balance bridge. I'd put this on someone who wants a display-back manual Zodiac to actually wear, scratches and brassing included, rather than one kept for a shelf.
