Zodiac Hermetic 1970s Manual Three-hand

Provenance — Acquired privately; no dealer, no paperwork.
I noticed the crystal first — a scatter of fine scratches across the acrylic that catches the light before the dial does, proof this Hermetic has been worn rather than kept in a drawer. The dial itself is a warm silver with a faint vertical brushed texture, baguette indices in gold, dauphine hands, and a date window sitting cleanly at three o'clock beside the Zodiac signature. The tonneau case is gold-plated over a steel back stamped Fond Acier Inoxydable, and at the lugs I can see the plating thinning through to base metal, more on one side than the other. Turn it over and the manual Zodiac calibre 68A is fully exposed, seventeen jewels, unadjusted, with a serial legible under the balance bridge. I'd put this on someone who wants a display-back manual Zodiac to actually wear, scratches and brassing included, rather than one kept for a shelf.
Buying from a stranger, in short. Every fault I know of is in the listing, and if you find one I missed, the return stands. Take the watch to a watchmaker of your choosing before you pay — I have never once objected. Fourteen days to send it back, for any reason at all.
Privatverkauf. Everything described above — case, dial, hands, lume, rate and service history — is agreed condition for this watch and I stand behind all of it. Beyond that, the watch is sold excluding liability for material defects, as is normal between private individuals for a vintage mechanical object of this age. That exclusion does not cover anything I have misdescribed or failed to disclose, and never covers injury or intent.
