Omega De Ville

Every De Ville found, in production order: the Seamaster De Ville of 1960, the ultra-thin dress watches and jewellery pieces of the 1960s and 1970s, the chronographs and tuning-fork watches, the quartz sub-lines of the 1980s, Prestige, the first co-axial watches, X2, Hour Vision, Ladymatic, Trésor and the central tourbillons.

Origins

The De Ville began in October 1960 as the Seamaster De Ville, a slimmer and dressier Seamaster for town wear. By then the Seamaster had become a professional line, and Omega aimed the new model at young American buyers, priced between the plain Seamaster and the Constellation. The catalogues used the name from the start, but it reached the dial only in late 1962, when Omega's New York agent Norman Morris asked for it. Most Swiss examples use the front-loading one-piece 'unishell' case with the seahorse on the back.

In 1967 De Ville became a collection of its own, with new short-lugged cases and a wider, slimmer range. Through the late 1960s and 1970s it was Omega's design line: ultra-thin hand-winds on the 2.5 mm cal. 620, square and TV-shaped automatics on the 3 mm cal. 711, the Jeux d'Or and Andrew Grima's gem-crystal watches, sterling silver Jeux d'Argent, chronographs on the 861, the elliptical Dynamic and the f300 tuning-fork Electronic. De Ville designs won the Grand Prix Triomphe de l'Excellence Européenne and six Golden Roses at Baden-Baden.

Quartz arrived in 1976. Under SSIH, rescued by its banks in 1981 and merged with ASUAG in 1983, the De Ville turned into a fashion and jewellery line with dozens of named sub-lines (Rivoli, Ile de France, Symbol, Vasarely) on thin Omega and ETA quartz calibres, while the ultra-thin Dinosaure of 1980 stood apart as its own model.

The modern De Ville starts with Prestige in 1993–94, the line's backbone ever since, and with the Central Tourbillon of Omega's centenary in 1994. In 1999 the De Ville carried George Daniels' co-axial escapement into series production for the first time; the co-axial chronographs, the split-seconds Rattrapante and the Chronoscope followed. The Hour Vision of 2007 launched cal. 8500, Omega's first movement designed around the co-axial, and the Ladymatic (2010) and Trésor (2014) completed today's range. Since 2022 every mechanical Prestige is a Master Chronometer.

Seamaster De Ville: the first De Villes, 1959 – 1975

552 · 560–565 · 600 · 601 · 610 · 611 · 630 · 670 · 1020

The De Ville began in October 1960 as a dressier, city version of the Seamaster, aimed first at young American buyers and priced between the plain Seamaster and the Constellation. Catalogues used the name from 1960, but it reached the dial only from late 1962, at the request of Omega's New York agent Norman Morris. Hand-wound 600-series calibres and the automatics 552 and 560–565 (24 jewels; the 560 and 563 have 17), all at 19,800 vph.

Cases. Swiss cases are mostly the front-loading one-piece 'unishell' with the seahorse on the back, advertised as waterproof to 200 ft; steel by Centrale Boîtes or S. Graber, from 1962 mostly by EPSA, gold by Serva. British cases by Dennison until 1968, then Shackman. US cases by Ross, with thinner lugs and often no seahorse; Seamaster De Ville references ran on alongside the plain De Ville after 1967, in the US to the end of the 1970s, so a 1970s Seamaster De Ville dial is not a fake by itself. Old-system prefixes: CK steel, KO gold-capped steel, OT 18k gold, OJ 14k gold.

Men's hand-wound dress watches, 1962 – 1981

601 · 610 · 611 · 613 · 620 · 625 · 630 · 651

From 1967 the De Ville stood alone as Omega's dress line, slimmer and more varied than the Seamaster it came from. Most men's hand-winds use the 17.5 mm ultra-thin cal. 620 (hours and minutes only, 17 jewels, 19,800 vph, about 2.5 mm high) or the 625, the same movement at 21,600 vph from about 1971. Round watches with seconds use the 28.4 mm 600 family: 601 time only, 611 date, 613 quickset date.

Cases. Round, cushion, tonneau, rectangular and square cases, many 20-micron gold-plated (MD) or gold-plated with a steel back, plus steel, 18k and white gold. Press-in or front-loading, with no water resistance as a rule. The archive gives the year a reference entered the collection; most were sold for several years after it.

Cal. 711: the ultra-thin automatics, 1962 – 1976

711

Cal. 711 is a full-rotor automatic only 3.0 mm high, the thinnest Omega automatic of its day (the later 1120 is 3.6 mm): 24 jewels, 19,800 vph, no date and no hacking. It was made by Rayville (the former Blancpain, part of Omega's SSIH group), later by Marc Favre; it was not built on a Frédéric Piguet base. It made cases under 9 mm thick possible, with flat dials because there is no room for a dome. Omega revived the 71x base in the mid 1980s for Louis Brandt watches.

Cases. Mostly 18k yellow and white gold, square, cushion and TV-shaped, plus a few steel references such as ST 151.0039 and ST 161.0022. Production of the 71x family began in 1964 and most watches date from 1966 on. The archive's 1962 date for 165.0008 is a reference-creation date, not a production date; dated examples of 165.0008 are from 1966 to 1968.

Jewellery De Villes: Jeux d'Or, Grima, Jeux d'Argent, Saint Honoré, 1964 – 1976

620 · 625 · 650 · 662 · 663 · 711

In 1969 Omega commissioned the London jeweller Andrew Grima, whose 'About Time' collection of 85 unique watches with gemstone crystals followed (Antiquorum; the often quoted '55 watches and 31 jewels' is the size of Bonhams' 2017 Grima sale). Omega's catalogued 18k jewellery line was Jeux d'Or, from 1964 into the 1970s; the later Grima-inspired 'Time in Style' pieces were sold under the De Ville, Constellation and Jeux d'Or names. When gold prices rose Omega moved to sterling silver: Jeux d'Argent, 1971–76, with integrated silver bracelets and faceted crystals. Saint Honoré (1974–75) is the 18k jewellery line of the mid 1970s; the name was reused on a 1980 quartz De Ville.

Cases. Integrated or soldered gold and silver bracelets, bark and textured bezels, faceted mineral or sapphire crystals, hidden crowns, stone and blue dials. Grima-retailed pieces carry Grima hallmarks and boxes. Archive references start RS (sterling) or BA/BC (18k); dealers often quote the shorter case numbers (8270, 8271, 8272, 8305, 8332, 8343).

1320 · 1325 · 1330 · 1332 · 1336 · 1337 · 1342 · 1350 · 1351 · 1353 · 1355 · 1365 · 1387

Omega's own quartz calibres reached the De Ville in 1976 (MD 192.0030, cal. 1325). The in-house 1342 with centre seconds ran from 1977 to 1980; the thin two-hand 1365 became the most used De Ville calibre of 1979–84. In 1979 the ultra-thin race began: ASUAG's Delirium was not an Omega, and Omega answered in March 1980 with cal. 1355 in the Dinosaure. From 1979 the line was split into named sub-lines, mostly French and Parisian place names: Rivoli, Saint Honoré, Les Genevoises, Ligne Douce, Octogonal.

Cases. Gold-plated cases (MD, ED, MR), steel, steel with gold bezel (DL, DA) and 18k (BA, BC), thin press-in cases of 4.4 to 6.7 mm, often 'dust protected' only. Integrated bracelets are common. In-house 13xx movements now depend on donor parts.

Quartz, 1982 to 1997: the named lines, 1981 – 2000

1375 · 1377 · 1378 · 1379 · 1417 · 1428 · 1430 · 1436 · 1450 · 1455 · 1456 · 1458 · 1459 · 1470 · 1471 · 1532

The early 1980s De Ville was a fashion and jewellery line under SSIH, which the banks rescued in 1981 and merged with ASUAG in 1983. The movements are mostly ETA-based (1377 on ETA 959.001, 1378 on ETA 210.001 at under 1 mm, 1436 on ETA 255.441, 1471 on ETA 282.001, 1532 on ETA 255.111). Sub-lines include Ile de France (1983–92), America, Chevrons, Gold Bond, Longchamp, Via Veneto, Symphonie, Symbol (1986–96, the case shaped after the Omega logo), Vasarely (1985–92, all 18k) and Classic (1991–92, Classic 97 to 2000).

Cases. Thin steel, two-tone and gold-plated cases with integrated bracelets, many 18k ladies' pieces. Prefix codes: ST steel, MD/ED/MR gold-plated, HG 10k plated, DL steel with plated bezel, DA/DD/DF steel with solid gold bezel, BA 18k yellow, BC 18k white. Dinosaure (1980) is filed by Omega as its own model, not a De Ville.

Prestige, 1994 to 2007, 1993 – 2007

651 · 861 · 1120 · 1221 · 1376 · 1532 · 2500 · 2520 · 1861

Prestige launched in 1994 (its first references, such as the 4840, were created in 1993) with the bassine case and a seven-row bracelet, and became the backbone of the De Ville. Automatics use cal. 1120 (ETA 2892-A2 with Omega finishing, many chronometers), ladies' models the 2520 (ETA 2000), hand-winds the thin 651 with small seconds, and the 1993 chronograph 4840 the 861, listed by Omega as 1861. The Tonneau Jump Hour revived the jumping hour in 1996 (cal. 1221). Quartz models use cal. 1532 (ETA 255.111) and 1376.

Cases. Round cases of 22, 27, 34.4, 34.7 and 36.1 mm and tonneaus of 31.2 × 35.6 mm, in steel, steel and gold and 18k, water resistant to 30 to 100 m. References use Omega's eight-digit system of 1988–2007: 4500.31.00 is De Ville (4), steel on bracelet (5), model 00, silver dial with batons (31), bracelet (00).

Co-Axial, 1999 to 2010, 1999 – 2010

2403 · 2500 · 2610 · 2627 · 2628

In 1999 Omega put George Daniels' co-axial escapement into series production for the first time, in the De Ville: limited series in yellow, red and white gold (999 each) and platinum (99), cal. 2500 on the 1120 base. Regular Co-Axial Chronometers followed in 37.5, 35 and 44 mm, then Power Reserve (cal. 2627), GMT (2628) and Big Date (2610). Cal. 2500 A and B run at 28,800 vph, C and D at 25,200; A to C use a two-level co-axial wheel that can stop the watch, D (about 2011) a three-level wheel. Omega has a service kit for the early versions.

Cases. Round cases with sapphire backs, in steel, 18k yellow, red and white gold and platinum; the 32.5 mm ladies' automatic and the skeleton three-metal sets of 1999–2002 complete the line. Case numbers in the old six-digit form (168.1848) still appear inside some backs.

Co-Axial chronographs, Rattrapante and Chronoscope, 2003 – 2018

3202 · 3313 · 3603 · 3612 · 9300

The first co-axial chronograph calibre, the column-wheel 3313 (Frédéric Piguet 1285 base, 28,800 vph), was presented in the De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph at Baselworld 2002. The split-seconds Rattrapante (cal. 3612, two column wheels, 52 h) followed in 2005, with a platinum series of 107. The Chronoscope of 2007 put four scales on the dial; the Chronoscope GMT uses cal. 3603. From 2012 the in-house cal. 9300 powered the 42 mm Co-Axial Chronograph, often called the Hour Vision chronograph, until 2018.

Cases. 41 mm cases, 35 mm for ladies' and midsize models, 44 mm for Rattrapante II and Chronoscope GMT, in steel, red, yellow and white gold, platinum and palladium; 100 m water resistance on the Chronoscope.

The Byzantium is a smaller 33.4 mm square with cal. 2500C, sold in several numbered regional editions.

Hour Vision, 2007 to about 2022, 2007 – 2022

8402 · 8403 · 8500 · 8501 · 8601 · 8611 · 8900 · 8901 · 8902 · 8903

The Hour Vision launched cal. 8500 on 24 January 2007, the first calibre Omega designed from scratch around the co-axial escapement: two barrels, 60 hours, 25,200 vph, a free-sprung balance and an hour hand that jumps for time zones. The 8501 has a red gold rotor and balance bridge. The Annual Calendar (cal. 8601 and 8611) followed, then in 2016 the Master Chronometer generation (433, cal. 8900 to 8903). The 41 mm case has sapphire windows in its sides.

Cases. 41 mm steel and red, Sedna or white gold; 88-piece editions of the Skeleton in red gold (cal. 8402) and of the Annual Calendar in platinum (cal. 8611); 100 m. Gold cases mark easily, and adding a bracelet later is expensive. The sapphire case-band models ended about 2018; In May 2022 Omega's US site still listed the Hour Vision while the Swiss site no longer did; Omega's product pages now say 'no longer available'.

Omega's databasesTwo Omega databases are the backbone. The vintage database lists 377 De Ville and Seamaster De Ville references with year, calibre and case; rows marked Omega archive come from it, and the archive year is when a reference entered the collection, not how long it was made. Omega's product database still holds 1,148 modern references from 1993 on, current and discontinued; they are grouped here by model, case size and metal, with every reference number and dial listed under the row (rows marked Omega catalogue; Current means Omega lists it in October 2026). 129 further references come from WatchBase, dealers, auctions and Omega Forums.
About the pricesMarket figures are asking and sold prices from dealers, auctions, Chrono24 and WatchCharts collected in October 2026, and are orientation, not a valuation. Where no figure for the exact reference was found, the row shows the range for its type (family, metal, men's or ladies'), marked as such in italics. For modern rows, Omega's list price in Germany in euros is added (Swiss CHF prices are about 14 percent lower); for a discontinued model it is the last euro price in Omega's product data, which may date from years ago. Years for modern references are launch years where a source gives one, otherwise the period the model was sold, marked c.

Watches you will meet sold as De Villes that Omega files elsewhere, numbers that could not be confirmed, and close relatives. They are kept out of the catalog above.

111.0053 · 551.0005Not De Ville111.0053 is a 1962 hand-wound dress watch from the international collection (Omega Forums thread on this watch: not a De Ville); 551.0005 is a Ladymatic of about 1965–66 with a dial signed Ladymatic.

Read a reference

Omega used three numbering systems on De Villes. From 1962 to about 1990 the six-digit case reference inside the back codes the case type, movement and features, with a metal prefix (ST 166.0145); about 1970 the part after the point gained a digit, so 166.033 and 166.0033 are the same. From 1988 to 2007 an eight-digit product number (4531.31.00) codes line, metal, model, dial and strap. Since 2007 a fourteen-digit number (434.10.40.20.02.001) codes collection, material, size, movement, dial and variant.

Type any of the three formats.
The decoder reads the digits and finds the reference in this catalog.

The six-digit table is the one collectors transcribe from Omega's 1960s literature. In the eight-digit system the third and fourth digits name the model (xx31 Co-Axial 37.5, xx32 Power Reserve, xx33 GMT, xx41 Chronograph, xx47 Rattrapante, xx50 Chronoscope) and the last two the strap; De Ville dial digit 6 means red, salmon or brown rather than ivory. In the fourteen-digit system the second movement digit counts complications by Omega's own rule, in which the date and the chronograph itself are not counted; calibre, year and water resistance are not encoded at all.

Date a movement

The serial number is engraved on a movement bridge. Movements were often made up to a year before casing and sale, and the published tables disagree by a year in places, so read the result as plus or minus one to two years. Prestige chronographs follow the Speedmaster table; modern pieces are best dated by their papers.

Type the serial from the movement.

Dials and signatures

The dial wording, lettering and lume markings place a De Ville in time, and they are where refinished dials give themselves away.

SignatureWhenWhat it tells you
No line name1960 to late 1962The first Seamaster De Villes were sold under the name but dials did not carry it yet.
Seamaster De Villelate 1962 onward; standard from 1963, used alongside the plain De Ville after 1967 and on US references to the end of the 1970sCorrect on late-1960s KM 6292 and on C 6865 (1973), so a late date is not a fake by itself.
Coat-hanger S versus round Searly versus later 1960sThe flat-topped 'coat-hanger' S in Seamaster is the earlier form.
SWISS MADE versus SWISSuntil about 1965SWISS MADE meant a Swiss case; SWISS alone meant a case made abroad, as on British and American De Villes.
T SWISS MADE Tfrom January 1964Tritium lume. On a dial claimed to be earlier it is a warning sign.
De Ville alone, script or blockfrom 1967The independent line. Many quartz-era dials add the sub-line name only on the caseback or not at all.
OM and sigma markssigma from February 1970; OM from the late 1960sOM (or massif) marks a solid gold dial, the sigma solid gold hands and markers.
'Chicago Skyline' logofrom 1980The angular De Ville logo of the quartz years, shown in Omega's own chronicle.
Co-Axial, Chronometer1999 onCo-axial models say so on the dial; the 1999 limited series has pie-pan dials.
Co-Axial Master Chronometer2016 on (Hour Vision), 2019 (Trésor), 2022 (Prestige)METAS certification; Prestige quartz dials carry no chronometer text.

Bracelets

Most vintage De Villes left the factory on leather; the jewellery pieces have integrated bracelets that are part of the case. For bracelets, end links and dating, see the Omega Bracelets guide and the Beads of Rice guide.

Buying checks

The checks below come from Omega Forums authentication threads, dealer guides and service experience.

Dial1960s and 1970s dress dials are often refinished. Look for crisp white with black print, wrong fonts, or a dial in better condition than the movement. A refinished dial cut a 166.0161 to $300–500.
Gold plateBrassing at lug tips and edges and green staining are common on MD cases and very hard to sell. Buy plated cases only in near-perfect condition.
Solid, plated, capped or filledRead the prefix (BA, BC 18k; BD 14k; MD plated; CD capped) and the case stamps. US cases stamped 14K Gold Filled between the lugs usually have capped lugs and a steel back.
British cases9ct cases are marked Dennison (to 1968) or Shackman (1970s) inside and often have no Swiss twin; Dennison did not always follow hallmark rules, so date letters can mislead.
Case and movementMany De Villes are monocoques that open from the front. Check that the movement serial fits the reference: a 1965 cal. 563 in a case listed from 1968 points to a swap.
Crowns and handsA wrong crown style or colour is the most common flag; over-long hands and modern crowns follow. Original vintage bracelets alone sell for $300–800.
Quartz watches1970s and 1980s 13xx calibres fail from dried oils, coils and stepper motors and are fixed from donor movements. Battery leakage happens. An ETA replacement keeps a watch running but cuts its value.
Cal. 2500 versionVersions A to C can stop; D, from about 2011, fixes it. Check the version on the plate or with the serial and papers; ask whether the service kit was fitted.
Hour VisionGold cases mark easily, no lume, and the sapphire case band and an added bracelet are expensive. Early 8500 problems were usually fixed at the first service.
Integrated braceletsSeveral modern Prestige and pre-2014 Trésor parts are discontinued. Buy the watch with its bracelet.
Service at OmegaOmega may replace cracked-lume hands or flaking dials even when asked not to, and may polish the case. Say what you want kept in writing.
PapersOmega's Extract of the Archives proves a movement left the factory in that case; it does not prove the watch is still original. The Extract has been unavailable since about June 2023, still without a restart in late 2025; the Certificate of Authenticity (CHF 800, inspection in Biel) is still offered.

Refinished dials

  • A refinish usually shows in the fonts: thick or uneven print, a misplaced Ω, wrong spacing of De Ville or Seamaster.
  • On a 1960s Seamaster De Ville the coat-hanger S, the SWISS MADE line and T SWISS MADE T must fit the year.
  • Quartz dials with stone inserts are rarely redone; the value sits in the case, so a quartz stone dial stays cheap.
  • A dial in better condition than a worn plated case is the classic warning sign.

Mismatched parts

  • Check that the calibre fits the reference: 620/625 in 111.xxxx and 511.xxxx, 711 in shaped gold 151/161/165 cases, 565 (563 in the US) in 166.0145.
  • A cal. 712 in a Deauville is wrong; a 711 in a 151.0039 has been seen with a 712 and is debated.
  • Megasonic wristwatches signed De Ville were not found; the archive's De Ville cal. 1220 is a pocket watch.
  • Modern references: the 14-digit number engraved on the caseback must match the papers and the dial and metal it describes.

What moves the price

FactorWhat the sales show
Solid gold against plateSolid gold sells for roughly 2 to 2.5 times a plated twin; Chrono24 median €2,710 against €1,100 for Seamaster De Villes.
Dial originalityAn original dial is worth more than any other single feature on vintage dress pieces.
Ladies' and quartzLadies' quartz is hard to sell; 18k ladies' quartz is valued at the gold.
Modern depreciationModern De Villes trade at about half of retail: the 424.10.37 sits at 44 percent of its last retail.
Market trendWatchCharts' Omega index rose 5.1 percent in the year to 15 October 2026; the De Ville collection index stands at $4,950.

Parts

  • Perrin still sells crown and stem sets for many 1970s and 1980s quartz calibres (1375, 1377, 1430, 1450).
  • Cousins UK lists Omega crowns, gaskets and crystals and publishes the cal. 2500 parts sheet by version.
  • Otto Frei sells listed Omega parts; obsolete parts by phone.
  • In-house quartz 13xx parts come from donor movements.

Selling

What buyers want to see and where to sell

  • Photograph the movement with calibre and serial, the inside of the caseback with the reference and maker marks, the lug tips and the crown.
  • Say whether the dial is original or refinished, the metal (solid, plated, capped, filled), the service history, and for a cal. 2500 which version.
  • Avoid heavy photo editing; buyers distrust it and compare sold prices, not asks.
  • eBay.de is free for private sellers in Germany and suits plated and quartz pieces under €1,000; Catawiki charges 12.5 percent of the hammer price plus VAT and a small fixed fee when it sells; Chrono24 suits modern De Villes and better vintage.
  • Henry's (Mutterstadt) gives free online valuations; Dorotheum and Monaco Legend suit Grima and Jeux pieces.

Omega's archive documents

  • Extract of the Archives: CHF 120, production and delivery data without inspection. Unavailable since about June 2023 with no restart date announced; check before promising one.
  • Certificate of Authenticity: CHF 800 (price at its 2019 launch), for watches at least 30 years old, inspected in Biel; refused if any part is not original. A dealer guide of October 2025 says it is still offered.
  • Omega's online vintage database supplies 383 entries used here (356 filed as De Ville, 16 as Seamaster De Ville, 6 US, 3 Swiss-market and 2 Dinosaure references) with year, calibre, case and archive photo; it is the basis of this catalog.

Each point the sources disagree on, with the answer this catalog uses and the evidence behind it. To judge one watch, rely on its caseback, movement and serial rather than on any single table.

QuestionUsed in this catalogEvidence
When did the line start?October 1960, as the Seamaster De Ville; 1959 archive dates are pre-launch referencesThe Omega Forums Ultimate Seamaster De Ville guide (PlainVanilla, 2023) dates the introduction to October 1960 from Omega catalogues, and Analog/Shift also gives 1960. The 1963 date that some dealers give is when the name reached the dial, not when the line started.
When did De Ville reach the dial?Approved at the end of 1962; signed dials are standard from 1963The Omega Forums guide says that at the very end of 1962 Omega granted its New York agent's request to print the full name. Analog/Shift and other dealers date the signed dials to 1963 (at Norman Morris's request). Both describe the same change, so 1962 references with De Ville dials are the earliest examples.
What happened in 1967?De Ville became its own line; Seamaster De Ville continued alongside into the 1970sOmega and Analog/Shift date the De Ville-only dial and the separate collection to 1967. The Omega Forums guide shows that these were new references with different cases, and that Seamaster De Ville references ran on through the 1970s, with US references continuing to the end of the decade.
Unishell water resistanceAdvertised as waterproof to 200 ft (about 60 m)The Omega Forums guide says the front-opening one-piece Unishell case was advertised as waterproof to 200 feet. The 30 m figure comes from a later dealer and is not a period Omega rating. For a watch of this age, the advertised figure no longer describes actual water resistance.
Was there a cal. 321 De Ville?Yes: 145.005 (1967), dial reading Seamaster or Seamaster De Ville; 145.018 is not oneThe Omega Forums guide lists 145.005, introduced in 1967 with cal. 321, with either Seamaster or Seamaster De Ville on the dial. The archive's 18k twin 141.0010 belongs with it. 145.0018 uses cal. 861.
Megasonic De Ville wristwatchNone exists; Megasonic wristwatches are Constellations and the 'Lobster'The Electric Watches survey lists Constellation 198.0047 (round, cal. 1220), Constellation 198.0048 (square, cal. 1230), the Lobster 198.0042 and the pocket watch 198.1742. None of them is signed De Ville.
Is the Dinosaure a De Ville? No; the Dinosaure is a separate 1980 modelAntiquorum (Omegamania, 2007) catalogues BA 391.9212 as 'Dinosaure', with cal. 1355, launched in 1980 at 1.48 mm. The Omega archive files the 191.0084 and 191.0114 references under Dinosaure, not De Ville.
Was the Delirium an Omega? No; Ebauches SA (ASUAG) made it for Concord, Eterna and LonginesGrail-watch documents the 1.98 mm Delirium of January 1979, built by Ebauches SA/ETA for Concord (Delirium), Eterna and Longines. Omega, then part of SSIH, answered with its own cal. 1355 in March 1980.
Jeux d'Or, About Time, Jeux d'Argent, EmeraldAbout Time: Grima's unique pieces (1969). Jeux d'Or: 18k. Jeux d'Argent: sterling. Emerald: shapePhillips says Grima's work with Omega began in 1969 with About Time, and calls Jeux d'Argent a 1970s sterling range. Christie's sells the 18k 8305 as 'De Ville, retailed by Grima, Jeux d'Or model'. AWCO uses 'Emerald' only as a title for the sterling 8272, which points to the case shape rather than a collection.
About Time size85 unique watchesAntiquorum states that Grima was commissioned in 1969 to make 85 unique watches, which became About Time. The '55 watches and 31 jewels' quoted by some later articles is the size of Bonhams' 2017 Grima sale, not of the collection.
Cal. 711 makerRayville (ex-Blancpain, SSIH group), not Frédéric PiguetDesmond Guilfoyle (2011) says the 710/711/712 family was designed from scratch, made first at Omega's Rayville factory and later at Marc Favre, and 'at no time' from Piguet blanks; Piguet supplied only the cal. 700. Omega Forums Stories also credits Rayville SA-Montres Blancpain.
711 in 1962 and 1964Not in 1962; 1964 at the earliest, most from 1966 onGuilfoyle dates the start of 71x production to 1964 and Omega Forums Stories dates the release to 1966, so a cal. 711 watch from 1962 is impossible. The archive's 1962 date for 165.0008 is therefore a reference-creation date or an error, while 161.0032 (1964) fits the very start of production. Dated examples of 165.008 are from 1966 to 1968.
Prestige startLaunched 1994; first references such as the 4840 were created in 1993Omega, WatchBase ('in Omega's catalogue since 1994') and Omega Forums Stories ('around 1994') agree on a 1994 launch. The archive's 1993 date for the 4840 is a pre-launch reference date, the same pattern as the 1959 and 1960 dates for the start of the line.
1999 Co-Axial limited seriesYellow, red and white gold (999 each) plus platinum (99): 5911.31.22, 5931.81.23, 5941.31.31, 5921.61.31Antiquorum's Hong Kong 2001 catalogue lists three gold series (yellow, pink and white, numbered to 999) and platinum numbered to 99. White gold 5941.31.31 pieces numbered x/999 confirm a white gold series that Phillips leaves out. Dials: yellow and white gold are two-tone silver; red gold 5931.81.23 is dark blue (WatchBase, owners; Antiquorum 2007 called one black); platinum is copper-salmon (Phillips, 34/99).
1999–2002 skeleton sets 5912 · 5932 · 59423 three-metal sets, 33 singles per gold, 1 platinum; yellow gold is 5912.30.22Antiquorum (2003, white gold 03/33) gives the series as 1 unique platinum, 3 sets in yellow, red and white gold, and 33 watches in each gold; Phillips (07/33, white gold) and Antiquorum (27/33, pink gold) confirm the per-metal numbering. Phillips sold the same set 3/3 (movements 009 to 011) in 2019 as 5912.30.22 and in 2022 as 5912.30.33. The .22 matches WatchBase and the yellow-gold suffix of 5911.31.22, so .33 is a typo, and WatchBase's '34 pieces' is wrong.
Cal. 2500 beat rate by version2500A and B: 28,800 vph; 2500C and D: 25,200 vphThe Cousins UK parts sheet for the 2500A to D gives 4 Hz for A and B and 3.5 Hz for C and D, with a different balance, second wheel and co-axial wheel for the C. Watchmaker Archer (Omega Forums) and WatchBase ('rate changed to 25200 from gen C') agree. The flat 25,200 found elsewhere describes only the later movements.
Cal. 3313 base and launchF. Piguet 1285; presented at Baselworld 2002Chronocentric's gallery dated 5 April 2002 lists the De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph with the 'new calibre 3313', and Master Horologer also says Baselworld 2002. Antiquorum sold a limited 333-piece pink gold example of circa 2003. The FP 1285 is the 28,800 vph version of the 21,600 vph FP 1185, and also underlies the 3301 and 3303. Europa Star's 2005 date is wrong.
Cal. 3612 reserve52 hoursHourstriker's spec pages for De Ville Rattrapante 4847.50.31 and 422.53.44.51.02.001, the Grail-watch Broad Arrow Rattrapante page and Watch Collecting Lifestyle all give 52 h, the same as the 3313 it is built on. WatchBase's 55 h and Grail-watch's 42 h on its De Ville page are outliers.
Cal. 2610 beat25,200 vphOmega Forums Stories gives 25,200 vph and 48 h. Omega's 2006 launch text (La Cote des Montres, Master Horologer) gives 48 h, which matches the 25,200 vph co-axials (2500C/D, 48 h) rather than the 28,800 vph ones (2500A/B, 44 h). The 2610 also arrived (X2, 2006) after Omega's switch to 25,200. WatchBase's 28,800 looks taken from the ETA 2896 base.
1994 Central Tourbillon windingAutomatic: cal. 1170 with a platinum rotor; the crown only windsPhillips (December 2025, 5910.30.01, case no. 6) catalogues an automatic cal. 1170 with 48 jewels and notes the platinum rotor. Antiquorum and Sotheby's also say automatic. Deployant's claim that it was hand-wound until 1997 does not match the physical watches. Omega's 'cal. 2600' is a later catalogue designation.
Hour Vision endSapphire case-band models about 2018; gone from Omega's sites after 2022Omega Forums members confirmed the Hour Vision was still on Omega's US and UK sites in May 2022, though it had already gone from the Swiss and Australian sites. Member Spqr says the sapphire-caseband range ended in 2018 and that only the blue Master Chronometer versions carried on. By 2026 new pieces are sold as new old stock. Omega has published no end date.
Ladymatic launch range38 COSC references at the 29 October 2010 launchWorldtempus (5 November 2010, from Omega's launch information) says the initial Ladymatic series had 38 chronometer references. WatchProSite's 'about 28 permutations' is a rough count from a Singapore media event in December 2010.
Trésor 8910 dateYes, date at 6 o'clockSJX's 2019 launch report says the steel Trésor with hand-wound cal. 8910 'has a date display at six o'clock', which matches Omega's product page and photos. WatchBase's omission is an error.
Trésor quartz launch2017, at first only in the US and JapanaBlogtoWatch (8 December 2017) introduced the 36 and 39 mm Trésor with quartz cal. 4061 as new, 'launched exclusively in the US and Japan for now'. Watchilove and Robb Report date the Trésor redesign to 2017.
Mini Trésor launchJune 2022; five more models added in January 2024Watchilove covered the 26 mm Mini Trésor launch on 24 June 2022, and Robb Report covered its Kuala Lumpur roll-out in September 2022. aBlogtoWatch reported five new Mini Trésor references (cal. 4061) on 23 January 2024.
Prestige 42 mm launch2024, two-tone strap models; bracelet versions added in 2025Luxury Bazaar's guide to Omega's 2024 releases lists the two-tone Prestige 42 (cal. 8936, $8,900) as a 2024 debut, and WatchBase gives 2024 for 434.23.42.22.02.001. WatchBase's 2025 dates belong to the later 434.20 bracelet references.
Omega list pricesEuro prices for Germany; Swiss prices about 14 percent lowerOmega's product data, read in October 2026, carries the euro prices of omegawatches.com/de-de (Prestige 40 mm steel on strap €5,000; CHF 4,300 on the Swiss site). Discontinued references show the last euro price in that data.
CK, KO, OT, OJ prefixesCK steel, KO gold-capped steel, OT 18k, OJ 14k (old system, before 1962)Omega's archive photos and cards show CK 14725 and CK 14910 in steel, KO 14730 and KO 14905 gold-capped, and OT 14745 in 18k. The same four- or five-digit number was made in several metals, so the prefix, not the number, gives the metal.

Prices and sources

About the prices

Dealer figures are asking prices; a dealer page marked sold shows the last asking price, not a confirmed sale. Auction figures are results reported by the auction houses. Chrono24 figures are asking ranges collected on 16 October 2026; WatchCharts figures are model estimates. Omega list prices are Swiss francs from Omega's Swiss catalogue.

How far to trust the facts

Omega's vintage and product databases were read in full on 16 October 2026; technical data (calibre, thickness, lugs, water resistance) comes from the product pages for about 750 of the 1,117 modern references, and the rest follows from the same model. Other facts were collected through automated page reading, so a number can be misread. Some sources could not be opened: Omega Forums pages behind a bot check, Hodinkee, eBay sold listings and several calibre databases. Loupe was not used because its terms forbid automated reading.
