Glashutte Original GUB 17 Rubis Dress Watch, 1960s
The gilt "17RUBIS" signature under the Glashütte script is what pulls my eye every time I look at this one, sitting on a champagne dial with a soft radial sunburst that shifts as the light moves across it. What I'm offering is the applied gold baton indices and matching dauphine hands, still sharp-edged, against a case that's kept its rose-gold-toned plating with visible brassing at the lugs where a strap has rubbed over the years. The crystal shows scattered fine scratches, enough that I'd want any buyer to study the photos before deciding, but nothing that obscures the dial underneath. Turning it over, the caseback carries its original engraved specifications and a legible serial I won't reproduce here, and the movement is clean, unsigned beyond a small reference mark, with visible jewels and a nicely finished bridge. This suits someone after a wearable, unpolished German dress watch rather than a cabinet piece.
